Report: Ron Vlaar considers Aston Villa future

Tim Sherwood is facing up to the possibility of losing Ron Vlaar on a free transfer as the Dutch centre-back weighs up his future at Villa Park, according to reports.

The 30-year-old has endured a difficult and injury-hit campaign for the Villans, making just 20 Premier League appearances and battling relegation for much of the season.

The Dutch international has been offered a new contract as Sherwood looks to rebuild his squad, but his agent has revealed interest from several unnamed European sides, reports The Telegraph.

Thew newspaper adds that Vlaar, who has 31 caps for the Netherlands, has been unsettled by Tom Cleverley's decision to join Everton over Villa and ongoing speculation regarding Christian Benteke's future, the newspaper adds.
