Tottenham Hotspur Ladies have announced the record-breaking signing of English striker Bethany England from Chelsea Women.
The 28-year-old has linked up with Rehanne Skinner's side for a reported £250,000, which makes her the most expensive British player in the Women's Super League.
England's switch across the capital surpasses the £200,000 that Chelsea paid to sign Lauren James from Manchester United in 2021, and she has signed a three-and-a-half year contract until 2026.
The striker left Doncaster Rovers Belles in January 2016 to sign for Chelsea, where she made 163 appearances and scored 74 goals in a seven-year spell.
England won four WSL titles and two Women's FA Cups with Emma Hayes's side, and she was named both the FA WSL Player of the Year and PFA Women's Players' Player of the Year for the 2019-2020 after scoring 14 goals in 15 league matches.
Hayes paid tribute to the 28-year-old following her exit, telling the official Chelsea website: "Beth has given tremendous service to the club. She has contributed to all of our success over the past seven years and she leaves a winner and a Chelsea legend. We wish her the very best for the next stage of her career."
The Tottenham striker represented England at Euro 2022 but did not play a single minute at the tournament, and she could make her debut for Skinner's side when they return to WSL action away to Aston Villa on January 14.
