Swindon Town striker Adam Rooney praises Kevin MacDonald for his influence since taking charge of the club.

Swindon Town striker Adam Rooney has praised Kevin MacDonald for his impact at the League One club.

Swindon's 0-0 draw with Notts County at the weekend moved them into second position in the table, with Rooney speaking of the influence that MacDonald has had on the Robins squad.

"He has been brilliant since he came in. He has been really positive around the place and got the confidence high in the group," Rooney told reporters.

"He really wants to focus on the positives in the games. He tries to encourage us to take people on, have shots and get our crosses into the box and the lads are doing that. We know we have the quality to score goals."

MacDonald replaced Paolo di Canio at the club.
