Swindon Town midfielder Massimo Luongo has admitted that he is delighted to have received his first call-up to the Australian national squad.
Australia play Ecuador at The Den next week as they prepare for this summer's World Cup, and Luongo has revealed that he is already finding it tough not to think ahead after being named in a 23-man squad.
The 21-year-old told BBC Wiltshire: "I was keen for a call-up. After playing regular football, I guess it's a reward for a full season.
"I don't know if I'll play, whether I'll get on. In the back of my mind, I'm thinking the World Cup will be brilliant, even though we've got a tough group.
"People keep saying 'I hope you go to the World Cup' and 'I hope you get in the squad' but I'm just focused on my first game and my debut."
Luongo has made 41 appearances for Swindon during the current campaign.
