Swansea City announce that Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas has signed a pre-contract agreement to join the club.

Swansea City have announced that Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Premier League outfit.

The 26-year-old, who has been part of the Betis first team since 2009, will become a Swansea player officially when the transfer window opens on July 1.

Canas, who made 27 appearances for the Spanish club this season, helped lead Betis to promotion to La Liga in 2011.

The signing comes following reports that manager Michael Laudrup and chairman Huw Jenkins have fallen out over the club's transfer policy.
