Swansea City pile misery on Fulham

Swansea City score twice in the second half to secure a 2-0 win over Fulham in the Premier League.

Fulham have slipped to their third defeat in a row in the Premier League following a 2-0 loss to Swansea City this evening.

Wilfried Bony had an early chance for the home side, trying to head in from a Wayne Routledge cross, but his finish was just high.

Jonjo Shelvey and Ashley Williams also had opportunities to give Swansea the lead, but Maarten Stekelenburg remained untested in the Fulham goal.

The visitors started to look stronger as the first half progressed, as Brede Hangeland headed just high before Ashkan Dejagah was denied by Gerhard Tremmel.

Swansea came out strong at the start of the second half, with Jonathan de Guzman picking out Chico Flores, only for Stekelenburg to make a solid save.

De Guzman had a couple of chances of his own just a few of minutes later, but headed the first over before drilling the second straight into the hands of the Fulham keeper.

However, the hosts were able to get the breakthrough on the hour mark through a deflected Shelvey effort from outside the box.

Clint Dempsey had the opportunity to get Fulham back on level terms just five minutes later, but dragged his effort wide of the post.

Flores was able to make amends for his earlier saved chance by adding a second for the hosts, flicking the ball in from a De Guzman free kick.

Fulham won a corner inside the final 10 minutes, giving the visitors a chance to get back into the match late on, but Dimitar Berbatov could only head over.
