Garry Monk: 'West Bromwich Albion wanted it more'

Swansea City boss Garry Monk believes that West Bromwich Albion's drive to win the game exceeded his side's in their defeat at the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea City boss Garry Monk believes that his side were outplayed in the second half of their Premier League defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

The Swans took the lead in the second minute through Roland Lamah, but after the break the Baggies took control of the game as goals from Stephane Sessegnon and Youssouf Mulumbu earned them the win at the Liberty Stadium.

Monk told BBC Sport: "I was pleased with the first half, we were creating chances and we could have been a few more ahead. But we came out second half and it was a completely different game.

"We did not perform, we were very sloppy in our passing and touches, and we didn't play. Our passing is so key to us but we were well off the mark.

"In [the] end West Brom wanted it a bit more than us and that is very uncharacteristic from us. You could see they wanted it bad, and they wanted it more than us in the second half."

Swansea are just four points clear of the Premier League relegation zone following the defeat.
