Garry Monk: 'Swansea City slump will make me a better manager'

Swansea City boss Garry Monk claims that his side's current poor run of form will make him a better manager.

Garry Monk has claimed that Swansea City's current poor run of form will make him a better manager.

The South Wales side have won just once in their last 10 games and currently sit five points above the Premier League relegation zone, but Monk is certain that both he and his players will come out stronger than before once they get through their current slump.

"I think it all will make me a better manager," he told reporters. "For certain I will come out stronger on the other side of this, I think everyone will, the players and myself. I don't know a manager who hasn't been through this kind of period.

"Coaches and managers I've spoken to have all said the same thing: you've just got to trust yourself, trust your players and just come through it. "

The 36-year-old added: "I've already reflected on it, what you would do, if you could do it again. Little tweaks you would do. But hindsight is a wonderful thing. We are not going to make excuses, it is what it is and we just get on with it."

Swansea are next in action tomorrow against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool at Anfield.
