Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup insists that the club's recent defeats have helped his plans for next season.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has revealed that he has a "clear picture" regarding his plans to improve his team next season.

The Swans will be looking to build on an impressive season that has included lifting the Capital One Cup.

However, Laudrup believes that it is the club's recent defeats that have helped him make decisions ahead of next season.

The 48-year-old told Wales Online: "There is a difference between wanting to win and needing to win. It may only be five or 10%, but that's enough. Instead of winning you can draw and instead of drawing you can lose.

"It has been useful for me to see where we are and what we can improve. It makes it easier to make decisions.

"When you have won a cup and everything is good, you can make decisions based on emotion, more with the heart than with the brain, but maybe things are a little clearer for me when I think about next season. I have quite a clear picture of what we need to do for next season."

The former Danish international has won 16 of his 43 matches in his first season at the Liberty Stadium.
