Bob Bradley lauds Swansea City "effort"

Swansea City manager Bob Bradley says that he is happy with the performance of his team following their home draw with Watford.

Swansea City manager Bob Bradley has praised the "all-round good effort" of his side after they were held to a goalless draw by Watford at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon.

The result leaves the Swans without a win since the opening day of the season but did end a run of four back-to-back league defeats as Bradley claimed his first point as boss.

"The second half was strong and we came out right from the beginning looking for a goal. It didn't happen but there are a lot of positives," he told BBC Sport afterwards.

"It was important to get a clean sheet and the play from our centre halves was solid as [Troy] Deeney and [Odion] Ighalo are difficult to play against. This is a step we can build on. Alfie [Mawson] impressed and it is not a surprise when you see him day in, day out. He is strong, good in the air and I am very happy with him.

"I think the team we picked today made sense, we had a solid game but we are disappointed. It is a home match so we want three points, but you see the chances we are creating and we can feel good and try to move in the right direction. There is disappointment for sure, but a shared feeling of an all-round good effort."

Swansea are now 19th in the table and two points from safety ahead of their trip to a resurgent Stoke City on October 31.
