Sunderland favourites to sign Diego De Girolamo?

Sheffield United's young striker Diego De Girolamo is reportedly a summer target of Premier League side Sunderland.

Sunderland are reportedly among the favourites to sign Sheffield United striker Diego De Girolamo.

Blades manager Nigel Clough confirmed earlier this week that the 19-year-old will leave Bramall Lane when his contract expires at the end of the season.

News of the frontman's imminent availability has alerted the Black Cats, who are keen to add the Italian to their development squad, according to the Sunderland Echo.

De Girolamo, who is also said to be a target of Serie A champions Juventus, is currently on loan with League Two side York City.
