Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan finalises a permanent move to United Arab Emirates club Al-Ain for an undisclosed fee.

Asamoah Gyan has finalised a permanent transfer from Sunderland to Al-Ain for an undisclosed fee.

The Ghana international had been expected to complete a switch to the United Arab Emirates side after spending a season-long loan at the club.

The 26-year-old was vocal about his desire to leave the Premier League after joining Al-Ain abruptly in the January window, which was shortly followed by Steve Bruce's departure.

Black Cats boss Martin O'Neill will begin the new campaign without the striker, who netted 11 goals in 37 league and cup games during his time with the North East side.
