Sunderland's Modibo Diakite wanted by 10 clubs

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet reveals that 10 clubs are chasing defender Modibo Diakite.

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has revealed that defender Modibo Diakite is being pursued by 10 clubs.

The 27-year-old has been expected to leave the North-East outfit after returning from a loan stint at Fiorentina.

"Diakite has got 10 options," Poyet told the Shields Gazette. "The problem is managing them because he has got his priorities as well."

Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Palermo and Inter Milan have all been linked with the player, who has two years remaining on his current contract at Sunderland.

Diakite moved to the Stadium of Light last year from Lazio.
