Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill has remained cautious over the injury that Adam Johnson picked up during Saturday's victory at Southampton.
The winger was forced off in the 75th minute of the Black Cats' 1-0 win at Southampton with what looked to be a leg problem.
"I'm hoping it's not too serious," O'Neill told Sky Sports News. "The way he limped towards me, it didn't look all that inviting."
Sunderland are now in 15th place in the Premier League table following Saturday's victory.
