Stoke City have agreed a deal to sign Ryan Sweeney from AFC Wimbledon, the club have announced.

The 19-year-old will undergo a medical at Clayton Wood this evening, while official confirmation of the move is expected tomorrow.

Sweeney made 10 appearances for Wimbledon in League Two last season, helping the club to promotion via the playoffs.

The defender will become Stoke's second signing of the summer after Joe Allen arrived from Liverpool.
