Mark Hughes: 'Kenwyne Jones going nowhere'

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes claims that he has 'no intention' of allowing striker Kenwyne Jones to leave the club.

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has claimed that he has 'no intention' of selling Kenwyne Jones.

The striker made only his 10th appearance of the season on Saturday as he scored during the Potters' 2-1 win over Leicester City in the FA Cup third round.

When asked if the 29-year-old could leave the club in January, Hughes told The Sentinel: "That's not the intention.

"We've had problems scoring goals and so we've got to keep players who can get you a goal, and he showed he's an option for us."

Stoke continue their Premier League campaign on Sunday when they welcome Liverpool to the Britannia Stadium.
