Tony Pulis says that Stoke City and the club's supporters are the most united in the country.

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has said that the club and its supporters are the most united in England.

Pulis, who achieved promotion with the Potters in 2008, has since established the side as a regular Premier League outfit and achieved qualification for Europe. However, Pulis insists that no-one outside of the Stoke community believed they could do it.

"The bookmakers wrote us off and paid out on us getting relegated," he said. "That inspired everyone – not just the players, the staff and myself, but the whole community.

"We're as close as you'll get to a community club anywhere in the country. Everybody is united in wanting to see this club pushing on.

"I don't care what people think about our style of play. I don't give a damn what people outside of the football club say. If you let yourself get affected by that then you won't last long in this job."

The Potters are in 11th place in the Premier League, but could go as high as eighth with a win at Bolton this afternoon.
