Mark Hughes disappointed with West Ham United draw

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes admits he is disappointed that his side were not able to take all three points after the 0-0 draw at West Ham United.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has admitted that his side are "a little bit disappointed" that they were not able to take all three points from Upton Park on Saturday.

The Potters drew 0-0 with West Ham United in a game which saw plenty of chances for both sides, and goalkeepers Adrian and Jack Butland made several saves apiece to keep the game scoreless.

Hughes said that he felt that his team had the better of the chances, but accepted that it was vital that his side's strong defence did not concede at the other end.

"We never hit the heights that we did last week [in the 2-0 win over Manchester City] but West Ham were always going to be a factor in a our ability to be able to play as well as we wanted," he told the club's website.

"In the end I think that we contributed to a end-to-end game and had real, good opportunities to take the game away from them. They had scrambles and balls put into the box that we had to deal with but I thought again defensively we were very strong.

"Really if you go through the clear chances in the game the best ones fell to us so we are a little bit disappointed that we have not taken one of them, but in the end it was key that we took something out of the game, which we have been able to do."

The draw saw Stoke move level on points with Liverpool and Everton but remain in the bottom half of the Premier League table on goal difference.
