Transfer roundup: Wolves want Danny Ings, Spurs to sell Djed Spence, Nottingham Forest want Jose Sa

Sports Mole rounds up the latest January transfer rumours, including Wolverhampton Wanderers showing an interest in Danny Ings and Tottenham Hotspur being prepared to sell Djed Spence.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly identified West Ham United forward Danny Ings as a potential January transfer target.

On Sunday morning, Wolves confirmed that Sasa Kalajdzic had linked up with Eintracht Frankfurt on loan, following Fabio Silva in departing on a temporary basis to Rangers.

Gary O'Neil's side are now two strikers down and in the market for at least one replacement, with there being no particularly rush courtesy of any new arrival not being eligible to play until the Premier League fixture at Brighton & Hove Albion on January 22.

Nevertheless, according to The Telegraph, Wolves may attempt to negotiate a deal for the transfer of Ings before the end of the month.

The 31-year-old has endured a frustrating time with the Hammers, being restricted to four starts and 13 substitute outings in all competitions without scoring a goal and having David Moyes show preference to using Jarrod Bowen down the middle of the attack.

With Wolves not looking to spend big in the market and West Ham likely to have few issues with discussing an exit for Ings, a transfer may suit all parties.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prepared to listen to offers for Djed Spence after he failed to make a positive impression at Leeds United.

After not making an impact under Antonio Conte, the same occurred under Ange Postecoglou in the summer, and the right-back was presented with a chance to represent Leeds in the Championship for 2023-24.

Although injuries impacted on his time at Elland Road, the 23-year-old made just five starts and two substitute outings, with Daniel Farke choosing to send him back to North London.

With the reasons for his return said to be down to professionalism, the Daily Mail claims that Spurs are now ready to cut their losses and sell Spence in January.

Since costing £12.5m in July 2022, Spence has made just six substitute appearances for Spurs and he will not come into contention for more outings under Postecoglou while bids are considered.

Returning to Wolves and Nottingham Forest are allegedly ready to make an ambitious bid to sign goalkeeper Jose Sa.

During the summer, Forest were heavily linked with the Portuguese, but he has since penned fresh terms and appears settled with life at Molineux.

However, according to FootballTransfers, new Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo is an admirer of Sa at a time when he is prepared to consider changes between the sticks.

Neither Matt Turner or Odysseas Vlachodimos have consistently impressed since their arrivals at the City Ground, the former having made an error in the game with Manchester United before Forest prevailed by a 2-1 scoreline.

From Wolves' perspective, there has been a need to part ways with players in order to boost their FFP position, with Silva and Kalajdzic having already departed on loan and Luke Cundle potentially signing for Stoke City for £1.5m.

Nevertheless, the sale of Sa is unlikely unless they receive an offer that they cannot refuse, a scenario that is not expected with Forest also not in a strong position with regards to FFP.
