Tottenham Hotspur 'set Giovani Lo Celso asking price amid Villarreal interest'

Tottenham Hotspur have set an asking price for midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, who is set to depart the club in the upcoming transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set the asking price for midfielder Giovani Lo Celso ahead of a potential summer departure.

The Argentina international joined the North London side in 2020, scoring eight goals in his 84 appearances for the club.

However, Lo Celso was allowed to move on loan to Villarreal in January for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.

Although his loan spell has now ended, Lo Celso could return to Estadio de la Ceramica after helping the Yellow Submarine reach the Champions League semi-finals.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have priced the 26-year-old at €20m (£16.97m), with Unai Emery keen to bring the central midfielder back to Spain.

Despite Villarreal's interest and Spurs setting a price tag, nothing has yet been agreed between the two clubs.

Lo Celso, whose Tottenham contract runs until 2025, scored one goal in his 22 appearances for Villarreal in the second half of the campaign.
