Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly have to hold off competition from at least five other clubs if they wish to sign Sporting Lisbon's Joao Palhinha during this summer's transfer window.
The 25-year-old, who featured twice for Portugal at Euro 2020, scored twice in 38 appearances for Sporting during the 2020-21 campaign.
Tottenham continue to be credited with an interest in the midfielder, who still has four years left to run on his current deal with the Portuguese champions.
However, according to A Bola, Spurs will face competition from the likes of Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Napoli.
The report also claims that Sporting have now raised their asking price for the midfielder and will not consider offers of €30m (£25.7m) despite recent suggestions that fee would be enough to open talks.
Palhinha has scored four times in 56 appearances for his current side in all competitions.
