Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made it clear to Real Madrid that midfielder Christian Eriksen is not for sale.
Eriksen has been a key player for Tottenham since his £12.5m arrival from Ajax six years ago, but he has just one year left to run on his current deal and has been targeted by Madrid.
The Danish playmaker spoke out on his future in an interview published on Wednesday, admitting that he would like to seek a new challenge this summer.
According to El Confidencial, however, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has no intention of selling the 27-year-old, even if that means losing him for nothing in a year's time.
Levy is said to have made the comments to Madrid counterpart Florentino Perez over dinner at Madrid City Hall on Friday, before Eriksen's comments were made public.
The two men have previously worked on deals for Gareth Bale and Luka Modric.
