Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly made Kyle Naughton one of his transfer targets.
The Argentine boss is said to be keen to bolster his options at full-back and Naughton can play either on the left or right side of the defence.
However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will not consider parting with the 24-year-old for anything less than £8m, according to The People.
The Saints are not prepared to match that asking price, but are believed to be hopeful that a compromise can be reached.
Naughton still has three years left on his contract at White Hart Lane.
