Report: Tottenham Hotspur to move for John O'Shea

A report claims that Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Sunderland captain John O'Shea.

Sunderland defender John O'Shea has been linked with a switch to Tottenham Hotspur.

Along with fellow centre-back Wes Brown, 33-year-old O'Shea was widely praised for the role that he played in helping to keep the Black Cats in the Premier League last season.

However, the Republic of Ireland international has just 12 months left to run on his contract at the Stadium of Light, which has alerted new Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, according to the Sunderland Echo.

The report adds that the North Londoners would look to offer around £3m for the defender's services.

O'Shea joined Sunderland back in the summer of 2011 following a 12-year stint with Manchester United.
