Hull City have opened talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a transfer for midfielder Ryan Mason, according to a report.
The 25-year-old has yet to feature for the Lilywhites this season and is said to have been told by boss Mauricio Pochettino to find a new club.
Sky Sports News claims that the Englishman, who spoke this summer about wanting to nail down a starting spot at White Hart Lane, is now close to departing the North London outfit on a permanent basis.
It has previously been suggested that Spurs are holding out for a sum of around £10m for Mason, with Hull the side to have shown the most interest ahead of next week's transfer deadline.
Mason, a part of the Spurs fold since 1999, made 22 appearances for Tottenham in the Premier League last season.
