Real Madrid are reportedly prioritising a long-term move for Kylian Mbappe over Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane, despite boss Carlo Ancelotti wanting the England striker.

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to miss out on signing Harry Kane in order to secure the services of Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe in the future.

Los Blancos are in the market for a world-class attacker this summer after Karim Benzema departed the Bernabeu for the riches of Saudi Arabia following a 14-year-stay.

After failing to win league this season, Madrid will be looking to regain their La Liga crown from Barcelona next term and also win their 15th Champions League ahead of the likes of Manchester City.

According to The Mirror, Real Madrid are planning to prioritise the signing of PSG's Mbappe over a move for Tottenham Hotspur talisman Kane, with a view to the long-term success of the club.

The report claims that boss Carlo Ancelotti is urging his employers to bring England's all-time top scorer to Spain this summer, however it is believed that Madrid's hierarchy would rather be patient and secure Mbappe at a later date.

Spurs are said to be against the idea of selling the 29-year-old to a Premier League rival meaning a move to La Liga would be preferred, however the player himself is understood to want to remain in England.
