Real Madrid 'eyeing move for Nikola Maksimovic'

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a move for central defender Nikola Maksimovic.

The 29-year-old is available on a free transfer this summer, having seen his contract with Italian giants Napoli expire at the end of June.

A number of clubs have been credited with an interest in the Serbia international, including Tottenham Hotspur, but he remains a free agent ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.

According to Defensa Central, Carlo Ancelotti's side are weighing up a move for Maksimovic, with the Spanish giants desperate to bring another centre-back to the club.

Sergio Ramos has left the Bernabeu on a free transfer this summer, while Los Blancos have agreed to sell Raphael Varane to Manchester United.

Maksimovic made 99 appearances for Napoli over the course of five years, including 27 outings in all competitions during the 2020-21 campaign.
