Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino concedes that Christian Eriksen could leave the club this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has conceded that Christian Eriksen could leave the club in this summer's transfer window.

Eriksen, who will see his Spurs deal expire at the end of next season, has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

Pochettino has said that he is desperate to keep hold of the Denmark international, but the Tottenham boss has admitted that Eriksen could depart this summer.

"I hope he will [stay]," Pochettino told reporters. "I think he is a great player, Christian. One of the biggest talents in football. After five years working with him, I am sure in the way that he plays, and I hope so yes.

"But you know, there is a lot of interest. I hope yes, but I don't know what is going to happen with that."

Eriksen has scored 66 times and contributed 86 assists in 277 appearances for Spurs since arriving from Dutch giants Ajax in 2013.

The 27-year-old has also been linked with a move to Manchester United as the Red Devils draw up a list of potential replacements for Paul Pogba.
