Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino: 'No concrete interest in Andros Townsend'

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino says that there have been no concrete offers for Andros Townsend.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that Andros Townsend will only be sold if it is the "right opportunity" for the club.

The England international, who has made seven appearances this season, has been linked with Newcastle United and Aston Villa.

Some reports have claimed that the Magpies are willing to pay £12m for the winger, but the club are said to value the player at £14m.

When asked about the rumours, Pochettino told reporters: "It is true that Andros Townsend does not play much for us, but he is a player in our squad and he needs to wait. It would have to be the right opportunity for the club. Today it is all about rumours - there is nothing clear.

"I am happy with the squad we have - we have quality to fight in different competitions. Maybe the people or [the media] are concerned but I am happy with the squad we have. If we are to improve we have to add the right player, but if we can't find the right player then we will not buy anyone."

Townsend has 18 months left on his contract at White Hart Lane.
