Tottenham Hotspur reportedly agree a deal to sign Israel attacker Manor Solomon on a five-year contract ahead of his exit from Shakhtar Donetsk on a free transfer.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Manor Solomon on a five-year contract.

The 23-year-old's contract with Shakhtar Donetsk was suspended last year following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, enabling him to join Fulham on a season-long loan deal.

Solomon struggled for regular starts under Marco Silva, having missed a large chunk of the campaign due to a knee injury, but he came up with five goals in 24 games for the Cottagers.

Solomon memorably netted in four successive games against Nottingham Forest, Brighton & Hove Albion, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford, as well as scoring in a fifth-round FA Cup triumph over Leeds United.

However, the Israel international only started four Premier League matches for Fulham, although the Cottagers have been tipped to bring him back to the English capital on a permanent basis.

Solomon is apparently set to continue in London for the 2023-24 campaign, but not with Fulham, as The Athletic reports that Tottenham have agreed a five-year deal with the attacker.

Solomon's Shakhtar contract is not due to expire until the end of December, but FIFA have allowed Ukraine-based players to suspend their contracts for a further year while the Russian invasion continues.

As a result, the former Maccabi Petah Tikva attacker will be able to join Spurs on a free transfer, and terms have already been agreed with Solomon's representative Pini Zahavi.

However, Shakhtar Donetsk chief executive Sergei Palkin has threatened legal action against Tottenham if they bring Solomon to North London, citing "unjust enrichment" against his club.

FIFA's decision to continue suspending the contracts of Ukraine-based players has been upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, but Shakhtar are supposedly ready to take the case to the European Commission.

Solomon left Maccabi Petah Tikva in January 2019 to make the move to Shakhtar, and the Israeli winger has since amassed 22 goals and nine assists in 106 games for his parent club.

Solomon has won two Ukrainian top-flight titles, one Ukrainian Cup and one Ukrainian Super Cup with Shakhtar, while he also boasts seven goals and nine assists from 35 games in an Israel jersey.

The former Fulham loanee is poised to become Tottenham's fourth signing of the summer, following Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario to North London.

Ange Postecoglou's side are also being tipped to move for a new centre-back before pre-season begins, with Bayer Leverkusen's Edmond Tapsoba and Wolfsburg's Micky van de Ven among their shortlisted candidates.
