Real Madrid to spend €600m on squad overhaul?

Real Madrid will reportedly spend €600m (£534m) on a squad overhaul this summer and have prioritised the signing of Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.

Real Madrid are prepared to spend as much as €600m (£534m) on revitalising their first-team squad this summer, according to a report.

Los Blancos have endured a torrid time domestically this season, having been dumped out of the Copa del Rey last month by Leganes and falling 17 points behind Barcelona in the La Liga table.

According to Sports Illustrated, the club will look to make several big-money signings this summer and are also considering replacing Zinedine Zidane with Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The publication claims that Madrid have also prioritised the signing of Spurs striker Harry Kane and are prepared to pay upwards of €300m (£267m) in order to land their man.

Madrid's only realistic prospect of silverware this season is the Champions League, where they are due to face Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16.
