Forward Lucas Moura admits that he is unsure over whether to pen a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Lucas Moura has indicated that he plans to wait until the end of the season before making a decision on his future.

Moura is closing in on five years at the North London outfit, making a total of 213 appearances in all competitions.

During that time, 38 goals and 27 assists have been contributed, but the playmaker is yet to deliver either this season due to injury and remaining as a bit-part player by Antonio Conte.

With over 18 months remaining on his contract, Spurs are unlikely to consider a sale at the midway point of the campaign ahead of another hectic period of matches.

Nevertheless, it appears that Moura will give consideration to an exit at the end of the season if he does not become more involved going forward.

Speaking in an in-depth interview with Sport Flow Club, the 30-year-old said: "My plan, to be honest, I want to play football and I want to be in a club that allows me to play at a high level, play in a good league, play at a good level. That's my plan. I still have a lot of firewood to burn, I'm 30 years old, so I'm very young

"So my thought is to finish this season with Tottenham, try to win a title this season and, free of contract, sit down with my family and listen to the offers that will appear. That's when you analyse everything: country, club, financial side. It's analysing everything, and then make the best decision. That's my thought. But now I'm very calm there."

Although there is still time remaining on his contract, the topic of a renewal naturally entered the conversation, particularly with Spurs facing the same scenarios with other attack-minded players.

The future of Harry Kane will also be discussed heavily over the coming months and like with Moura, Spurs will not want to risk Kane departing on a free agent.

Nevertheless, the former Sao Paulo and Paris Saint-Germain man has hinted that he would be attracted to leaving for nothing in 2024 if the parties cannot agree on fresh terms.

Moura added: "If Tottenham want to renew, cool too, a club I like a lot, I'm adapted. Let's see, let's hear the renewal proposal. If they don't want to, I'll leave for free, and being free, of course, more proposals appear. So it's a matter of analysing and seeing what we decide."

Much may depend on whether Moura is provided with regular game time after the World Cup having played just 268 minutes of football spread over 11 appearances.

Although Moura started against Sporting Lisbon and Marseille in the Champions League, he was back among the replacements as soon as Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski may their respective returns from injury earlier this month.
