Jake Livermore unfazed by Hull City price tag

Hull City's latest recruit Jake Livermore says that he is not worried about the pressure that comes with being the Tigers' record signing.

Jake Livermore has insisted that he is unfazed by the pressure of becoming Hull City's record signing and believes that he will prove money well spent.

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder sealed a permanent switch to the KC Stadium on Wednesday, having enjoyed a season-long loan there last term.

Spurs are believed to have pocketed £8m as the 24-year-old became Hull's most expensive signing of all time, but Livermore says that he is simply focused on repaying manager Steve Bruce for the "faith" that he has shown.

"It wouldn't matter if I'd been bought for £1 or £100m, the way I'll apply myself will be just the same," he told the Daily Mail.

"A price tag won't make any difference to me, it's neither here nor there. As much as footballers are footballers and paid to do a job, it's just nice to be wanted.

"I can't wait for these weeks to tick down towards the games, if I'm honest, because I want to repay the faith that's been shown in me."

The Tigers kick off their Premier League campaign by travelling to London to face newly-promoted Queens Park Rangers on August 16.
