Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has said that he wants to see a re-think on when the transfer window closes across Europe.
Villas-Boas thinks that the time for buying players should end before a ball is kicked, which would put an end to long-running sagas such as Luka Modric's protracted move to Real Madrid this summer.
The Portuguese coach told reporters: "It makes everybody focused on what we have to do which is playing games and not creating news until the end of August.
"The only thing that has been raised in last year's Premier League managers' meeting and this one again was the market closing on the beginning of the first day of the season.
"I think it is a good suggestion that I make sure I will support but I have got used to it and you have to live with it."
Tottenham play their first home game of the 2012-13 season against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
