Emmanuel Adebayor shakes off a hamstring injury to start for Tottenham Hotspur at Newcastle United this afternoon.

Emmanuel Adebayor has recovered from a hamstring complaint to take his place in the Tottenham Hotspur starting lineup for this afternoon's trip to Newcastle United.

The Togo international will play as a lone striker at St James' Park, with Rafael van der Vaart acting as the immediate support.

Hosts Newcastle will start the match with two up front in the form of Demba Ba and Leon Best.

Newcastle: Krul; Simpson, S Taylor, Coloccini, R Taylor; Obertan, Cabaye, Tiote, Gutierrez; Best, Ba.

Spurs: Friedel; Walker, Kaboul, King, Assou-Ekotto; Modric, Livermore, Parker, Bale; Van der Vaart; Adebayor.
