Tottenham Hotspur have been fined £20,000 by The Football Association for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion against Newcastle United last weekend.
Spurs players remonstrated with the officials after Callum Wilson collided with Hugo Lloris before giving the Magpies the lead just after the half-hour mark.
Tottenham were convinced that Wilson had illegally impeded Lloris, who had come out to clear a long pass before going to ground after contact with the striker, who proceeded to chip the ball into an empty net.
The goal was ultimately allowed to stand after a VAR review as Spurs went on to lose 2-1, and the club have now been hit with a hefty fine after Antonio Conte's players swarmed referee Jarred Gillett.
"Tottenham Hotspur FC has been fined £20,000 for breaching FA Rule E20.1 during its match against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday 23 October 2022," a statement read.
"Tottenham Hotspur FC admitted failing to ensure that its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the 31st minute, and also accepted the standard penalty."
Conte's side will be aiming to bounce back from their recent losses to Manchester United and Newcastle when they meet Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
