Tim Sherwood questions Danny Rose red card

Tim Sherwood believes that Danny Rose should not have been sent off in Tottenham Hotspur's 5-1 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has questioned the decision which saw Danny Rose sent off in the 5-1 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Rose conceded a penalty for a challenge on Edin Dzeko when the score was 1-0 to City and Yaya Toure scored from the spot to hand the visitors a big advantage in the second half at White Hart Lane.

"Referee Andre Marriner got the decision right himself, he thought it was a corner and I think that was correct," Sherwood told BBC Sport.

"It's a last-ditch tackle from Danny but he has to come in like that to reach the ball which he did, but it's gone against us today."

Spurs remain fifth in the Premier League following the loss.
