Harry Redknapp has laughed off reports that Abbey Clancy wants "to kill" him following husband Peter Crouch's move to Stoke.
The striker moved to the Britannia Stadium last week in a club record £10m deal but Clancy told The Mirror that she was "gutted" by the transfer. "I love London," she explained. "My work's here and we've been happy here, plus Mum just moved down. We can commute but it's not ideal."
Talking to reporters today, Redknapp joked: "I'm sure Stoke's a beautiful place. I know Tony Pulis don't live there but… I'm only winding you up, Tony.
"They've got great supporters and an amazing football club. What they've done there is fantastic. I'm sure [Crouch] will be a big star there and score loads of goals."
He added: "I think as far as Abbey wanting to kill me, it's just a tongue-in-cheek remark, I think. I'm sure she didn't mean it that way."
Crouch is expected to make his debut in a home fixture with Liverpool tomorrow.
