Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino admits that his side did not deserve to come away with all three points from their 1-1 draw at home to Sheffield United.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that Sheffield United deserved their point from the 1-1 draw in North London this afternoon.

The Blades fell behind to Son Heung-min's strike shortly before the hour mark at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, only to equalise through George Baldock 12 minutes from time as Spurs' winless league run extended to five games.

It could have been even better for Chris Wilder's newly-promoted side had they not seen a goal controversially ruled out by VAR, and Pochettino acknowledged that the hosts did not deserve all three points.

"Always when you don't win you are disappointed and it is impossible to be happy. I think it was an even game. When you assess the game overall it was a fair result. I think they deserved a point - they were better in the first half, second half I think we were better," the Argentine told reporters after the match.

"We started the game not well. It was a little bit strange the situation of Tanguy Ndombele that he never felt comfortable on the field - maybe that affected the team a little bit in the first half. We changed for Harry Winks and then we played better.

"Of course we're disappointed because we knew we were going to find a team that were going to be aggressive, well organised. I think it's the worst opponent that you can have when you come from a Wednesday Champions League game a long way away.

"In the moment that we broke them down in the second half, not to keep that advantage and score the second goal because we had some chances. In that moment we were dominating the game. Of course we feel so disappointed, it is not a good feeling."

Spurs, who sit 12th in the table, have now dropped a league-high 12 points from winning positions this season.
