Harry Kane dreaming of England call-up

In-form Spur striker Harry Kane hopes that he can maintain his heroics in front of goal en route to winning a 'dream' England debut.

Tottenham Hotspur hitman Harry Kane is hopeful that he can maintain his talismanic form to boost his chances of winning an England call-up in the coming months.

The 21-year-old struck twice in Spurs' 5-3 New Year's Day victory over Chelsea to bring his total for the season to 16 in all competitions.

Speculation has since mounted that Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson will select the youngster for internationals with Lithuania and Italy in March.

"It's something I've dreamt about since I was a kid but there's still two months until the next England squad is announced," Kane told Sky Sports News.

"There's a lot of football to be played from now until then so I know I've got to keep my form up if I want to have a chance at that.

"I've got to keep scoring goals because the boss has said he'll pick players on form and who's doing well. There's still two months left and I've got to continue to do well if that's where I want to get to."

On Wednesday, Hodgson hailed Kane's development, labelling the young striker "tremendous".
