Christian Eriksen: 'Tottenham Hotspur win a sign of progress'

Tottenham Hotspur striker Christian Eriksen describes his side's 1-0 win over Southampton in the Premier League as "progress".

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has praised his side's 1-0 win over Southampton, believing that it is proof of progress.

The Denmark international struck four minutes before the break to secure a first win in five games for Mauricio Pochettino's outfit.

Eriksen told reporters after the game: "We have not had that many good home games so far, so we are pleased with three points.

"We had some chances especially in the first half and some smaller chances in the second half. Other games we haven't scored them but today we did.

"The players know each other but the system we have to connect it, and there is progress every time we play."

Spurs are now sixth in the Premier League table.
