Preview: Tottenham Hotspur vs. Hull City

Sports Mole looks ahead to Wednesday night's League Cup clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Hull City at White Hart Lane.

Just as he has done in the Europa League, Andre Villas-Boas has been heavily tipped to rotate his starting lineup for Wednesday's League Cup tie against Hull City.

It could mean that squad players, such as Jermain Defoe, Kyle Naughton and Erik Lamela, all come into the team.

What's more, veteran goalkeeper Brad Friedel could also be reinstated between the posts in place of Hugo Lloris, who is likely to be rested.

Like Villas-Boas, his opposite number Steve Bruce may also make changes, with Premier League survival likely to be the club's main target this season.

With that in mind, the likes of Aaron McLean, Robert Koren and Stephen Quinn could all be given roles from the start at White Hart Lane.

These two sides actually met on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League when a converted penalty from Roberto Soldado was enough for hosting Spurs to secure a 1-0 victory in North London.

The Tigers have won just once from their 10 visits to the Lane - a feat that they achieved back in 2008.
