Manor Solomon is set for a spell on the sidelines after Tottenham Hotspur confirm that the winger has undergone surgery on a knee injury.

Tottenham Hotspur confirm that Manor Solomon has undergone surgery on a knee injury.

Solomon joined Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk following a successful loan spell with Fulham last season.

The Israel international has made an encouraging start to his Tottenham career, providing two assists in his five Premier League appearances.

However, it was revealed on Wednesday that Solomon will spend time on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury in training.

Tottenham confirmed those reports in a statement released on Thursday evening, while also revealing that the player has undergone surgery.

The statement read: "We can confirm that Manor Solomon suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee in training this week.

"The forward has undergone surgery today and will commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff immediately."

There are fears that Solomon will be out of action for at least two months, which will provide a setback for both Tottenham and Israel.

Solomon's national side are expected to be without his services for their final four Euro 2024 qualifiers against Switzerland, Kosovo, Romania and Andorra.

If Solomon is sidelined until the start of December, he could miss at least six Premier League matches, including a highly-anticipated contest with London rivals Chelsea on November 6.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou will hope to have Solomon available for an away meeting with Premier League champions Manchester City on December 2.

News of Solomon's injury will certainly come as a blow, with Postecoglou already without three wide options in Ivan Perisic, Brennan Johnson and Bryan Gil.

They are joined in the treatment room by Alfie Whiteman, Ryan Sessegnon, Rodrigo Bentancur and Giovani Lo Celso.

Spurs, who are sitting in second position, will look to continue their unbeaten start to the Premier League season when they face newly-promoted Luton Town on Saturday.
