Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Spain could line up for Sunday's 2022 World Cup Group E clash with Germany.

Spain head coach Luis Enrique is expected to name an unchanged starting lineup for their second World Cup 2022 Group E clash against Germany on Sunday.

The 2010 world champions secured their biggest-ever World Cup win when they cruised to a 7-0 victory against Costa Rica in their opening group game on Wednesday, which saw six different La Roja players on the scoresheet.

Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo and Marco Asensio were among the scorers – with the former of whom bagging a brace – and all three attackers are set to retain their places in a fluid front three.

After recovering from illness, Alvaro Morata came on as a second-half substitute to score Spain's seventh on Wednesday, but he may have to settle for a place on the bench once again along with the likes of Nico Williams, Pablo Sarabia and Ansu Fati.

Barcelona trio Pedri, Sergio Busquets and Gavi – the latter of whom made World Cup history with a strike against Costa Rica – are all set to start again in centre-midfield.

Deep-lying midfielder Rodri was handed a surprise start at centre-back alongside Manchester City teammate Aymeric Laporte last time out, and he could continue in defence against Germany, although Pau Torres and Eric Garcia will both be pushing to start.

Experienced duo Cesar Azpilicueta and Jordi Alba are poised to retain their places at right-back and left-back respectively, while goalkeeper Unai Simon should continue between the sticks.

Spain possible starting lineup: Simon; Azpilicueta, Rodri, Laporte, Alba; Pedri, Busquets, Gavi; F. Torres, Asensio, Olmo
