Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte has revealed that he is still exploring the possibility of representing Spain at senior level despite currently being the captain of France's Under-21 side.
The centre-back was born in France, but has been in Spain since 2009 and played for Bilbao's first team since 2012.
As it stands, the 21-year-old can represent either France or Spain at senior level having not yet been capped by either.
"I've said that my bet is France and if the coach relies on me, then there's no doubt," AS quotes Laporte as saying. "But that option hasn't been taken. Euro 2016 is very important and it doesn't happen every day. Now it's necessary to mature and see what happens."
Laporte has 16 France Under-21 caps to his name.
