Cian Bolger leaves Bolton Wanderers for Southend United

Southend United sign Cian Bolger permanently from Bolton Wanderers after his brief loan spell last season.

Southend United have completed the permanent signing of Cian Bolger from Bolton Wanderers.

The 22-year-old defender leaves the Trotters without making a senior appearance since joining from Leicester City 18 months ago.

Bolger re-joins Southend for a reported £25,000 fee after a brief spell on loan with the Shrimpers last season.

He made one appearance for the League Two side before getting injured and missing the rest of his loan stint.
