Marco Silva to replace Claude Puel at Southampton?

Southampton are reportedly considering replacing manager Claude Puel with Hull City boss Marco Silva.

Hull City manager Marco Silva is reportedly being considered as a replacement for Claude Puel at Southampton this summer.

The 39-year-old has earned plaudits for his work since taking over at the Tigers in January, but despite a string of impressive results, his side remain in the dropzone and could be relegated from the Premier League this weekend.

Puel, meanwhile, took over from Ronald Koeman at St Mary's on a three-year deal last summer and has overseen a largely underwhelming campaign, with their current points tally of 42 well short of the 63 points and sixth place that saw them qualify for the Europa League group stages last term.

According to The Sun, the Saints hierarchy are prepared to make a change at the end of the season and have already sounded out Silva about a potential switch to the south coast.

Silva, who cut his managerial teeth with Estoril and Sporting Lisbon in Portugal before moving to Olympiacos, is believed to have a break clause in his contract allowing him to leave in the event of relegation.
