Report: Southampton offer Ronald Koeman manager's job

Former Netherlands international Ronald Koeman reportedly receives a formal offer to become Southampton's new manager.

Southampton have reportedly made a formal offer to Ronald Koeman for him to fill their vacant manager's role.

The Saints have been without a boss since Mauricio Pochettino made the move to Tottenham Hotspur last month.

Following reports that the former Netherlands international is the club's favourite for the job, the Telegraph says that the 51-year-old received a formal offer from the team on Friday and is in the process of finalising his contract.

The report goes on to state that Koeman is already planning his backroom staff, and is likely to take over at St Mary's during the next week.

Koeman ended a three-year spell with Feyenoord at the end of last season in order to pursue a new challenge.
