Southampton boss Mark Hughes insists that the Saints are solely focused on Saturday's Premier League clash with Chelsea rather than their FA Cup semi-final next weekend.

Southampton boss Mark Hughes has insisted that they are solely focused on Saturday's Premier League clash with Chelsea rather than the FA Cup semi-final between the two teams next weekend.

Saints are currently 18th in the Premier League table ahead of their home game against the reigning English champions on Saturday afternoon.

Southampton will then face the same opponents in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on April 22, but Hughes has denied that his side are already thinking about the last-four clash at Wembley.

"The very next game is the most important because that's clearly the situation we're in. We're not looking too far ahead because we cant. Our sole focus is about going up against a good Chelsea team who will test us," Hughes told reporters.

Southampton have not won a home Premier League match since the end of November.
