Adam Lallana hails 'hard work' of Southampton after beating Liverpool

Adam Lallana says that Southampton deserve credit for executing their plan "brilliantly" during their victory over Liverpool.

Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana believes that everyone at the club deserves credit for their victory over Liverpool on Saturday.

The 25-year-old was part of the side that registered a 1-0 victory over the Merseyside outfit, ending Liverpool's unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

"It's credit to the staff, the players and everyone who works at the club," Sky Sports News quotes Lallana as saying. "We worked hard on our game plan all week and we executed it brilliantly.

"The last 10 or 15 minutes get a bit edgy when you're winning. You tend to drop off a little bit deeper and people get tired. But I don't remember them having a serious chance."

The Saints are now in seventh place in the table.
